Tena ra koutou katoa

For today’s lesson in Maori me and my class got to watch one of the three roopu representing Te Tai Tokerau in Nelson. The roopu that we watched was Te Pu O Te Wheke.  In my opinion they were beautiful, I think that they did great and that their Action’s, Voices and Movements really showed how Talented they really are.

Rates and Ratios

In maths we have been learning about simplifying ratios. Ratios are where one amount is compared with another amount.

For example 16:24, 8:12, 4:6 and 2:3.

16:24 were both equal numbers so simplifying was easy and the easiest one was 2:3

Leadership Speech

To me leadership is about more than just being in charge. It’s about inspiring others to work towards a common goal, and helping them to achieve their full potential.

A great leader is someone who leads by example, and who is willing to put in the hard work alongside their team. They are also someone who is willing to listen, to learn and to adapt to changing circumstances. A leader should be transparent and honest in their dealings, and should always strive to be fair and empathetic. The best leaders are those who are able to bring out the best in others, to encourage them to take risks, and to help them grow. They should be willing to take responsibility for their actions, and to admit when they are wrong. They should also be able to communicate their vision clearly, and to inspire others to work towards that vision.

Remember, leadership is not about power or control, but about using your influence to create positive change in the world. As a leader, you have the power to make a real difference in the lives of those around you. So be the kind of leader that others will want to follow, and use your influence to create a better world for all of us

So to me a leader is someone who can do something for people for the greater or good and to be the person that everyone can look up to in life

So ye that is a leader to me kia ora

Taonga tuku iho/Heritage

In social studies we had to write about what things  that are important to you ,your  family , you or to other people. We had to write why it is important and how it is a taonga tuku iho. E.g Jewelry, pounamu,Korowai etc. Basically anything you can pass down to generations to generations so that they can do the same and treasure it.

Kiwi icons

In social studies we chose 5 icons that represent New Zealand , why we chose it and who made it and when it was created. I chose hunting and fishing,my local foursquare, red bands , whittaker’s chocolate and pineapple lumps. There are many more icons that represent New zealand like hangi L&P drink pavlova etc.The icons that i have chosen are either because i really like them or because it is local to me.

Kupe tried to negotiate
